Solar Thermal

Solar Thermal Panels (Hot water)

Solar Thermal is achieved by the solar collectors (panels) on the roof turning the suns energy into hot water which is stored in the hot water cylinder tank to be used as requested by YOU the consumer, see below for information on incentive schemes on hot water solar as at present there isn’t one in place however don’t worry when there is, we will call & accredit it with our MCS so you will receive the payments.

There are two types of hot water panels, Flat Plate Collectors & Evacuated tubes both efficient but aesthetically different as you can see on the pictures below.

Solar Thermal technology converts the sun’s energy into hot water. This can then be stored in a cylinder and used around the home for washing, bathing, etc.

Solar Thermal (Hot Water)A residential Solar Thermal Panel system allows you to make average annual savings of between £55 and £85 on your water
heating bills.

From autumn 2012, homes with Solar Thermal systems will also receive payments for each unit of heat generated through
the UK Government’s Renewable Heat Incentive(RHI). These payments will amount to around £250 per year and systems
fitted now will qualify.

An RHI Premium Payment/grant of £300 is available to bridge the gap until the full Renewable Heat Incentive begins.
